VSSA Recitals

Having an opportunity to play a performance-ready piece is usually a great motivator for students. Our Saturday-morning audiences (see calendar for recital dates) provide warm applause and enthusiasm, as well as encouragement for each young performer. The recitals also provide a model for other students to work towards. Each performer has his picture taken, so this is an event to dress up for. An accompanist is available for all but very advanced selections. If the piece is difficult, the performer should rehearse ahead of time with his own accompanist and ask that person to come to the recital.

To perform in a recital, sign up at the information table at group lessons. Talk to your private teacher to make certain that the piece you selected is polished and "performance ready".
