V.S.S.A. Chamber Music Program

The chamber music program offers students an opportunity for development of musicianship in association with other players. Students will perform in trios, quartets, quintets or other small ensembles. Chamber music represents one of the three major types of musical performance, the other two being solo and orchestral playing. Students begin to become musically independent, start leading rehearsals and making musical decisions, learn to play in a group without a conductor, and relate musically, professionally, and socially to other individuals in their group. Chamber music groups perform at V.S.S.A. concerts and at other events.

Requirements:
Violins, Book 4 or above
Violas and cellos book 3 or above
Completion of V.S.S.A. reading classes or the equivalent Semester commitment

Students should choose the chamber music program as their reading experience when selecting their group lesson schedule. Any questions should be directed to the chamber music coordinator.
